All our products are made in Germany. Our production site in Sprockhövel manufactures LOXX fasteners, stamped parts, and springs, ensuring top quality and short delivery times.

Schaeffertec was founded on October 1, 2008, but our roots go back to 1876 when Carl Schaeffer began trading fabrics and grommets before starting metal production. Over the decades, the company helped shape the history of fasteners. Since a management buy-out from Prym, Schaeffertec has focused on stamped parts, springs, and the LOXX^® specialty fastener.

LOXX fasteners are used for boat covers, guitar straps, umbrellas, keychains, rain covers for cargo bikes, tank bags for motorcycles, door holders in caravans, floor mat fastenings, rifle slings, police gear, steamers, rain protection for golf carts and so much more.

Our springs are found in most door handles in German households and in locking systems for well-known furniture brands.

The LOXX^® fastener always has two parts. It locks automatically—the stainless-steel spring in the top piece snaps around the ball head of the bottom piece.

Only by pulling up the cap does the spring release the ball head, making it easy to open.

Yes! All LOXX fasteners are made from high-quality, corrosion-resistant materials and designed to withstand moisture, temperature changes, and UV. Extra-rugged versions available for special demands.

For high corrosion, we recommend the chrome version. All LOXX fasteners are made from corrosion-resistant brass. Stainless steel is mainly for food, medical, and rehab sectors.

Since 2015, all LOXX springs are made from stainless steel for extra durability. A spring may break due to excessive force, improper assembly, or overload. For heavy use, like boat covers, use our HD-LOXX version. If you have issues, contact us.

LOXX is low-maintenance and designed to last. We recommend regular visual checks for wear. If dirty, wipe with a damp cloth or rinse with clear water—no harsh cleaners.

Standard LOXX holds over 120 kg of pull. For higher demands, we offer reinforced versions.

Yes, LOXX works with gloves. For thick gloves, use the ring version for better grip.

Yes, we offer finishes like nickel, black chrome, or stainless steel. Custom logos are possible for orders of 3,000+ pieces.
