Our roots go back to 1876, when Schaeffer was founded in Barmen. Metalworking is not a business model we picked. It’s where we come from. Today, Schaeffertec is a family-run manufacturer in Sprockhövel, Germany, and we build small metal parts that carry big responsibility: fasteners, springs, stamped and formed components that have to work, every time, for decades.

Why we exist

Small parts. Big responsibility.

Nobody buys a fastener for fun. You buy it because something must not fail: the boat cover before the storm, the guitar strap on stage, the spring inside a door that opens fifty times a day for thirty years.

That is the business Schaeffertec chose. We develop and manufacture metal components for the moments where “good enough” is not good enough. And we believe that kind of quality should not be reserved for superyachts and premium brands. The same click that secures a sailing cover should be available to the camper, the maker, the DIY project at home.

LOXX® is our most famous product. But behind it stands a full manufacturing company: walk through our production in Sprockhövel and you pass stamping presses, bending machines, coiling lines and automated assembly systems: a machine park that covers everything from the first prototype to series production in the millions. Run by people who know every one of these machines inside out, backed by a supplier network built over decades and a team with experience from a dozen different industries.

LOXX® fasteners can be unscrewed, reused and moved to the next application. Our springs and stamped parts disappear into furniture, doors, lockers and cabinets that serve households and industry for decades. We don’t do throwaway quality. When a part leaves Sprockhövel, we expect it to hold in twenty years.

And we want Schaeffertec to grow into what drives us every day: a developer and manufacturer of smart metal fastening solutions for specialized applications: self-developed, built in Germany, trusted worldwide.

We’re a family business. Our word counts. Our partnerships are built for decades, not transactions. And yes, we are genuinely obsessed with what a small metal part can do when it’s designed with purpose.

The following principles are our guideline at Schaeffertec:

1. Pollution control and sustainability.
From purchasing raw material to the shipment of our products, we avoid unnecessary detours, dangerous materials, or energy-intensive production process to keep our carbon footprint as small as possible.

2. We manufacture in Germany since Made in Germany has been a guarantee of quality for decades.

3. We take our social responsibility to provide jobs, and therefore purpose in life for the disadvantaged people in our society, seriously. One of our most important cooperation partners is the Essen-based company GSE gGmbH, an exemplary service provider and employer for people with disabilities and mental illness.

4. We offer apprenticeships. Our aim is to show young people that a professional training in the technical or commercial department can lead to a satisfying profession. We want young people to find a career path early on therefore we offer schools a 2-3 weeklong internship.

Trust us, trust Made in Germany.

Good grades are important, but they are not the first priority.

When looking for trainees, it is important for Schaeffertec GmbH not to focus on the best school-leaving qualifications, but to fundamentally offer young people, who have a genuine interest, the chance to learn a skilled trade.

The JOBSTARTER plus program with its project "Ausbildung jetzt" is a great help to Schaeffertec GmbH. Within the project, interested young people, who are looking for an vocational training, are placed with the participating companies.
