Who would have thought that a small but very smart fastener, at the time only known by a minority of experts in the marine sector, would become an essential accessory for the fashion world within only a few years? Today, LOXX® is used wherever high-quality materials combine to form an exclusive whole. Whether as fastener for bags (Oberwerth Germany), as a connection for straps, as protection against theft, or simply as an accessory for your key chain: the high quality snap fastener LOXX® upgrades the value of your product.

How does LOXX® work?

The LOXX® safety lock always consists of two parts.
It closes and secures automatically as the stainless steel spring of the upper part (similar to a tow hitch) tightly wraps around the ball head of the lower part and latches on to it.

Only by pulling up the cap does the spring release the ball head, and the connection can be disconnected with ease.

This so-called security lock is reliable in use, sustainable in production and surprises time and again with its innovative design.

How to install LOXX®:

Upper parts are very easy to attach, as they are installed without sewing or tools.

1) For firm fabrics or leather, cut out a 10mm hole, or punch out with a punching tool. Please note that for softer or stretchy fabrics, the hole should be correspondingly smaller in diameter.

2) Push the thread through the hole, screw the washer on and tighten it with the small key. Done!

This procedure is the same for all upper parts and for the large lower part for fabric (fabric screw).

Depending on the application, there are many other lower parts that can be attached using a needle, glue or a small tool.

Clamping ranges (material thickness)

Depending on the customer's requirements, all upper parts and all large lower parts for fabrics can be supplied with the standard washer or with the long (high) washer. The high washer allows a higher clamping range (+1 mm). Click here for the LOXX® modular system.

The washers are currently available in 8 finishes: Nickel, shiny chrome, nickel-free silver matt (Oeko-Tex compliant), black chrome, old brass, old copper, gold and stainless steel. They can also be ordered separately. A service provided by Schaeffertec.

Which tools are available for the LOXX® system?

The small key

The small key, made of nickel-plated steel, is ideal if you only want to attach an upper part or a lower part for fabric now and then. It is also ideal as a small gimmick for your customers.

You can also use the hexagon to tighten single LOXX® screws - a further development by Schaeffertec.

The big key

If you work with LOXX® frequently or even daily, you should use the big key. The ergonomically shaped wooden handle allows perfect power transmission. It is suitable for all washers on all upper parts and lower parts for fabric.

The attachment for electric drills

The LOXX® attachment for electric drills allows you to attach all washers very quickly and precisely. This attachment can be used for upper parts as well as for the lower part for fabric.

The small punching tool

The small punching tool is ideal for punching or cutting 10 mm holes. This mini punching tool was specially developed for the sale of LOXX® items in blister units. Small, handy, but sturdy it cuts or punches up to 10 holes. Download the instructions here!

Colorful LOXX® - spice up your life!

For years we have been looking for a good solution to be able to offer you our snap fastener not only in "technical" but also in colorful finishes. We have succeeded in finding this solution! In cooperation with our Wuppertal based partner ROTOVER, we can offer you LOXX® upper and lower parts with a wafer-thin but scratch-resistant metallic surface. The big lower part for fabric

Like all upper parts, this lower part is attached without sewing or tools. Punch a hole, push the thread through, tighten the washer, done! This lower part is also called fabric screw. The maximum clamping range depends on the selected washer.

These large lower parts for fabric are available in nickel, shiny chrome, black chrome, vintage brass, vintage copper, stainless steel, gold and nickel free silver matt (Oeko-Tex II compliant).

The small lower part for screwing

An ingenious novelty!

No spindle or hand press is required for this small lower part. The new small lower part is screwed together. The necessary screws (available in two lengths) and the washers (Ø 8 mm) are made of stainless steel and are included in the scope of supply.

Two clamping ranges allow the installation on very thin or very thick materials:

Screw M 2.5 x 6 mm = clamping range 0 - 4 mm.
Screw M 2.5 x 8 mm = clamping range 2 - 6 mm.

The following tools could be helpful for the installation:

Revolving punch pliers (e.g. from Prym) - hole size 2 mm
Micro screwdriver with slot in 0.5 mm (e.g. from WERA)

The small lower part for screwing is currently available in 5 surfaces: Natural brass and brass plated in nickel, vintage brass, vintage copper and black nickel.

The small lower part for riveting

This small lower part is ideal for very thin fabrics, or thin leather (clamping range max. 2 mm). It is perfect for those places where the big lower part fabric is too large, or where it simply fits the design better.

This small rivetable bottom part is currently available in three finishes: Nickel, vintage brass and browned.

Upon request, we will gladly make other finishes for your collection.

Please note that a screw press or hand press and appropriate tools (upper and lower dies) are required to rivet this lower part.

The lower part for sewing

The fabric lower part for sewing is available in nickel plated brass and chrome plated brass. It is an easy sew-on alternative to the large lower part for fabric. The fabric does not need to be perforated with this LOXX® bottom part. Click here to view our catalogs.

The small lower part for gluing in

The pin of this lower part has a diameter of 4.5 mm, a length of 5 mm, and two grooves. It can be glued in easily and permanently with a suitable adhesive.

Because of the grooves in the pen the glue is distributed evenly which gives the pin a particularly good hold.
As a standard, the LOXX® lower part for gluing in is available in nickel plated brass. Other finishes are available on request.
